Provide users with the ability to define logoff periods for each individual user. So hotels that want a timeout period shorter than 20 minutes will be able to specify this.
We are happy to announce that the ability to configure logoff times will be coming to choiceADVANTAGE as part of the 3.3 release due in the fall of 2008.
I do not understand why anyone would want a login period shorter than 20 minutes.... as a desk clerk I would like to see the login period be a minimum of 40-45 minutes.
I agree. I get so frustrated at the number of times I have to log in on a shift!! I personally do not think it is necessary for the system to log us out anyways.
I'm glad the ability to configure the logoff time is going to be implemented in the new choiceADVANTAGE system. I hope they have the option "never" in there.
I have to agree with everyone who's already posted their thoughts on this one. It's a hassle to continuously log in! We should log in when we get to work, and log out when we leave; providing you're the only one using the computer you're on. For a hotel that has multiple staff at the desk, you definitely need timed log outs.
I agree with doing away with a time-out. Very frustrating when you get on the phone and have to askt he person to wait while you log back in. As far as multiple users per computer, we have each person open their own window.
I worked at a motel where you enter a * at the end of your log-in name so it would stay up for a longer period of time. when you knew you would be busy or might not be on as much you just used you regular log-in name?maybe this or something of the like could be used
we need to have no time outs in the morning checking out our corperate guest and no log outs onSat. and Sunday during 2and 4 busy check in times. I get logged off while making a reservation and guest is not happy about starting over. longer is much better or none during peak hours
