Make it to where you can not check a guest in or print registration card when credit card declines. Currently a guest can be checked in even though their credit card delcines.
Changes to credit card declines are coming soon. The "decline" message will be a more prominent pop-up window, and the user will have to choose an option to continue with the check-in process.
This enhancement will be release in a separate patch release this Fall. Date soon TBA.
I completely agree with this!!!!! There may have to be a supervisor overide password in the odd event you may want to fix the card error later or something like that!
This is bug in the Application, or in S/W world we call it a feature. I agree, I have been only using CA for 4-months and have to remind my staff to view Authorization Center and verify that Auth exits to cover the stay before printing the Registration. It is very fustrating to be training staff on the look out for bugs like this. Same goes with Cash paying guest, CA should not issue a room if Cash is not received and posted to guarantee the entire stay.
There should be a pop up window that comes up with big letters saying credit card declined. When you are busy it is easy to overlook the small red letters at the top of their reservation. This is definately something that needs to be addressed, we have had many guests check in with declined credit cards!
I agree that the cc declined message should be more noticable. However, I have to disagree with a required payment before the system checks a guest in. We get the majority of our business from military personnel and military contractors. They get paid on specific dates and may not have the funds in their cc account to cover the entire stay. So we work with most of them to take partial payments or weekly payments as they need. So, we leave their payment method as cash until they can make a cc payment. Then we change the mothod to cc, take an authorization on the card and charge it accordingly. Once payment is obtained, we change the payment method back to cash.
